Community Guidelines

Where's It App works best when people are honest, respectful, and considerate of others. These Guidelines explain what we expect from everyone who uses the Service—including hosts, attendees, and visitors—and how we may respond when something goes wrong. They work together with our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.

Effective date:

Summary

Be kind, be accurate, and prioritize safety. Post real events and truthful details; do not harass, scam, or misuse the platform. If you see something that breaks these Guidelines or puts people at risk, report it. We may remove content, limit features, or suspend accounts when necessary to protect the community.

Purpose

These Guidelines exist to keep Where's It App a welcoming place to discover what's happening nearby and to host gatherings people can trust. They are not an exhaustive list of every situation; we may take action on conduct that undermines community safety or trust even if it is not spelled out word-for-word here.

Using the Service means you agree to follow these Guidelines and our Terms of Service. Nothing here limits the enforcement tools described in the Terms.

Respect & inclusion

Treat others with respect—online and at events.

  • Do not harass, bully, threaten, or intimidate individuals or groups. This includes slurs, hateful conduct, sexual harassment, and coordinated pile-ons.
  • Do not discriminate based on race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, age, or other protected characteristics—or encourage others to do so.
  • Respect people's privacy: do not share someone else's personal information (such as home address, phone number, or private messages) without permission.
  • Debate ideas without attacking people; disagree without abuse.

Events & listings

Listings should describe real events you are authorized to promote. Misleading or fake listings harm attendees and venues.

  • Provide accurate titles, dates, times, locations, pricing, and accessibility information to the best of your knowledge. Update or cancel listings promptly when plans change.
  • Do not create duplicate spam listings, bait-and-switch events, or listings whose primary purpose is advertising unrelated products or services.
  • Use private or restricted visibility options honestly—do not use them to conceal harmful or illegal activity.
  • Choose categories that fit your event; do not mis-tag content to manipulate discovery.

Safety

Everyone shares responsibility for safety. Hosts should plan for crowd size, venue rules, and any permits or requirements that apply in their area.

  • Do not promote violence, illegal activity, or dangerous instructions (including weapons, drugs where prohibited, or sexual content involving minors).
  • Events involving alcohol, minors, physical activity, or late-night travel may need extra precautions; communicate expectations clearly to attendees.
  • If someone is in immediate danger, contact local emergency services—not only the platform.

Messages & interactions

Messaging and social features are for coordinating around events and building community—not for spam or harassment.

  • Do not send unsolicited bulk messages, repetitive outreach, or phishing links.
  • Do not impersonate Where's It App staff, moderators, venues, or other users.
  • Respect boundaries: stop contacting someone if they ask you to.

Integrity

Keep the ecosystem trustworthy.

  • Do not manipulate reviews, RSVPs, views, or rankings through fake accounts or automated tools.
  • Do not run scams, pyramid schemes, counterfeit ticket sales, or financial fraud through the Service.
  • Do not upload malware, scrape or overload our systems without permission, or attempt to bypass security controls.

Copyright & brands

Only post content you have the rights to share—including images, logos, and descriptions. Respect trademarks and venue branding guidelines when applicable.

If you believe someone copied your work without permission, use reporting tools where available and consider providing documentation we can review.

Reporting & enforcement

If you see content or behavior that violates these Guidelines or our Terms, please report it through in-app tools when offered. Include enough detail for us to investigate.

We may remove content, hide listings, restrict messaging, suspend accounts, or take other steps we consider appropriate—including escalation to law enforcement when legally required or when safety is at serious risk. We are not obligated to take action on every report, and outcomes may vary based on context and available information.

If you disagree with an enforcement decision, you may contact us at support@wheresitapp.online. Appeals do not guarantee reinstatement.

Hosts & organizers

If you host through Where's It App, you represent your event honestly and comply with venue contracts, local laws, tax and ticketing rules, and accessibility obligations where they apply. You are responsible for attendee communication (including cancellations and refunds when you control ticketing).

Moderators and administrators may have additional responsibilities under internal policies; misuse of elevated permissions may result in loss of access.

Updates

We may update these Guidelines as the product and community evolve. We will post the revised version on this page and update the effective date. Continued use of the Service after changes means you accept the updated Guidelines, unless applicable law requires otherwise.
